The Drop Redoubt fort is part of an extensive set of Napoleonic fortifications sitting on the Western Heights in Dover overlooking the castle, town and channel. |
Children can take part in drills on the parade ground or can watch a re-enacted battle scene whilst enjoying a drink and homemade cake from the cafe. There are also musket drills and displays.
Come and explore the fort and see what life was like for soldiers staying at the fort, you can also see the work carried out by the volunteers of the Western Heights Preservation Society who maintain the site.
South East Kent Astronomy club will be on site on Saturday 19th May weather permitting.
Free parking is available a 5 minute walk away.
Access to the Drop Redoubt is not suitable for wheelchair users, pushchairs or those with limited mobility due to steps and terrain.
